Dejohn Huffman he/him is an lifelong nurturer of all walks of life, who specialises in Community Engagement. Building bridges across the wide tech divide is a personal passion he has been committed to for over 8 years. Dejohn is an BPI Bard College alumni, adjunct lecturer at Parsons school of design and a SOS Survivor of The System administrator. Former NYC Health + Hospitals Contact Tracer-II, Community Outreach Specialist who helped the city regain its independence from the clutches of Covid-19. But his drive to change the tech narrative has been paramount in his desire to find new and innovative ways in which to introduce Tech into the marginalized spaces of inner city communities; but also championing the proper balance of sensitivity toward the impact of race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity in his teachings. His current efforts continue to reflect his commitment to enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the tech sector for all. Inclusion for him is not just something to be achieved or talked about or theorized; it is the source of his growth and his best opportunity to continue to give back.
